Glycine 15N (H215NCH2CO2H) is a white solid, with a solubility of 24.99g/100cm3 in water at 25 ° C. The density of Glycine-15N is 1.16 g/cm3 and it melts at 233 ° C.

Glycine-15N, or 15N labelled Glycine, is prepared by reacting Chloroacetic acid to 15NH4OH:
215NH4OH + C2H3ClO2 H215N-CH2-COOH + NH4Cl + 2H2O
15N Glycine is used in different fields of chemistry. The most known applications are the following:
• Widely used as a important tracer in biochemical and agronomic studies;
• Glycine-15N is used in inorganic and organic synthesis as 15N stable isotope source;
• Commonly used in the metabolic studies;
