Glycine 15N (H215NCH2CO2H) is a white solid, with a solubility of 24.99g/100cm3 in water at 25 ° C. The density of Glycine-15N is 1.16 g/cm3 and it melts at 233 ° C.
Glycine-15N, or 15N labelled Glycine, is prepared by reacting Chloroacetic acid to 15NH4OH:
